Women in Mining South Africa (WiMSA) provides a free platform that supports and guides women's personal growth, leadership and career development in the South African mining industry. WiMSA was established in 2010 as a completely independent, volunteer-run non-profit organisation and exist through sponsorships.

Its values revolve around collaboration and providing support to all women in the mining industry. WiMSA aims to assist women with peer-to-peer learnings and focuses on its foundational pillars in all that it does. These include  mentorship, science, technology, engineering and mathematics awareness, gender-based violence education and awareness, career fairs, networking, technical workshops and health and safety awareness.

WiMSA believes in supporting women to best develop themselves to become the strongest versions of themselves and the future leaders of the mining industry.
